SPOTLIGHT ON JACK EMRA

Meet Jack Emra, a senior at Fairfield Ludlowe High School and a standout intern with the Fairfield Democrats! Now in his second year as an intern, Jack has become an integral part of our team, assisting with everything from postcard writing and phone banking, to delivering signs and staffing events locally as well as for the State Party. Not only has Jack been a stellar trainer for his fellow interns, but he’s also a prolific canvasser, knocking almost 200 doors this season alone so far. Outside of his work with us, Jack is a captain of the mock trial team at Ludlowe and a member of the CAGV youth council. He’s also a writer for the school newspaper, where he covers topics like current events, education reform, and the philosophy of American politics. Jack is currently working through the Babbel Spanish course, and in his free time, he enjoys spending time with his dog, Sammy.

Thank you, Jack, for your dedication, leadership, and hard work! We’re so lucky to have you on our intern crew!

SABRINA TOMEI, 2024 DTC Internship Committee Chair

Sabrina Tomei, a senior at Fairfield Ludlowe High School, has been a dedicated Fairfield DTC intern since 2022. From canvassing to phone banking, writing postcards to staffing events and more, Sabrina has played a key role in helping elect Democrats up and down the ballot. This year, she's taken her leadership to the next level by managing the DTC team of some 20 high school & college interns. Beyond her work with the Fairfield Democrats, Sabrina has also interned with Congressman Jim Himes' district office and campaign, conducting opposition research, building VAN lists, and editing website content.

Sabrina's dedication to service extends into her academic life at FLHS, where she has been involved in numerous activities. As former Editor-in-Chief and current member of the yearbook committee, mock trial team member, Model U.N. club member, and Opinions Editor for the school newspaper, Sabrina is deeply engaged in her school community. She also anchors and produces content for the school TV show.

We are incredibly grateful for Sabrina’s contributions to our Party and her tireless commitment to making our community a better place!

Cindy Wapnitsky.jpg

Cindy Wapnitsky has been an invaluable asset to the Fairfield DTC, tirelessly volunteering her time for door knocking, lawn sign delivery, phone banking, post card writing, poll standing on Election Day, and more to support our Democratic candidates up and down the ballot. A 39-year resident of Fairfield, Cindy is a retired early childhood special education teacher and the cofounder of the early childhood preschool at Congregation Beth El. She’s also been a proud PTA Board member at Jennings Elementary School and has served on the Board of Jewish Family Services. Cindy’s passion for community service extends beyond education—she’s worked closely with elderly residents and even helped resettle Jewish families from Russia into Fairfield. We thank Cindy for her commitment to Fairfield and for helping to strengthen our community through service!
